: Hello All,

: I am starting a new content area on my site, and would like to solicit some feedback. I am only posting this on Wanda's board, so this is the only place you will see this. Let me explain the process first, and then the detail areas that I need advice on.

: The content area is "Ask the Experts". It is not a discussion board, but rather actual questions (from email), by real people, with the "actual" reply posted. Notice that "Experts" is plural. I have asked Wanda if she would supply some of her questions and replies, she graciously agreed. And I hope over time there will be other contributors as well.

I think this is going to be a very exciting project that will probably generate into an incredible marketing idea. You may have hit on to something big...

: My vision is that this will become a sort of "FAQ" of marketing questions with very thorough and complete answers. I think we'll all learn a lot, not only from the answers, but from the questions as well.

I recently read a excellent book where the marketer did this very thing and is now making $$$ with his "Ask the Expert(s)" section.

: Here is where I need some assistance. What's the best format? I have only one question posted at the moment. I copied the original question (unedited) and then followed that with the reply (also unedited).

How about a newsletter that features each question. It's content would feature the title of the question so a viewer or subscriber could then decide which question to consider withoout having to search and waste time. later, you could charge a minimal fee for your eazine...but no advertising...just a thought.

: When I reply to questions, particularly if they are lengthy, I tend to intersperse my comments inside the context of the original post or question. Now with the way I have formatted this, there is some redundancy. I have a couple of options.

Your comments, that are not part of the original material, could be highlighted or italicized.

: A. Post original message, followed by original reply
: B. Post original message, edit reply to "only" give my response and not include any of the original text.
: C. Post only my reply, which would have the original text included.

: What do you think? Which would be the most helpful for people? Which would allow people the easiest way to follow the train of thought? In the existing format, is it too long and tedious to maintain user interest?

: Thank you in advance. Use the link below, look for the "Ask the Experts" link.

: Dale

My 2 cents...
