Congratulations, Mark! I agree with Wanda that if you're just starting up publication: wait to advertise.
I've not published an e-zine (yet!!), but have some experience with newsletters.
First thing: make sure you have something interesting to offer readers. You need to get feedback, then iron out (does ANYONE iron any more?) the wrinkles.
Second thing: Consider carefully screening advertisers, since if you're working to build a reputation for quality and ethics for your business, you need to ensure that all advertisers are ethical as well.
