Mike,

I posted this piece once on this board - I think it is important enough
to repeat it again:

......................................................................................

When you look for money-making opportunity, is very easy to make mistake.
Indeed one of the reasons people face in business (and over 90% fail) is
that they choose the wrong business to begin with.

Chosing something only because it sounds good can be a huge disaster.
Like in this very real-life example from my daily mail,

I get many requests every day to come and visit and fix some
sites - usually I don't have time (nor desire - as I owe my attention
to my own clients who hire me and rely on my help). Sometimes a letter
will catch my attention. Like this one, which was sent to me by
very nice reader who attended some tele-classes...

So, as a courtesy I clicked on her link and so the correspondence
went back and for - those of you who search for opportunities and
want to get some turn-key operation, be warned.

I don't include the real address of that website - it is not about
one particular site, but about a dangerous trend: expecting making
a lot of dough in the short time, guaranteed.

It could be funny - but it is really tragical, and hurts all of us.
Please read on...

Hello Wanda,

I know your very busy and could probably not have time.
But could you do me a big favor if you have a extra couple
of minutes. I know this is far to much for me to ask of you.

If you should get a chance. Could you please take a
look at my Website and tell me why I have yet to sell one
package? I don't understand why it hasn't had any traffic on it.

Unless it's the way the man who sold it to me gave me the wrong
way of advertising it. He gave me one ad to go with, and
this is it..

"ATTENTION OPPORTUNITY SEEKERS"
Internet Business! 150 page WebSite that sells what the net uses
most. Your very own site at www.yourname.com sells Hosting,
Domain name registration, Engine Submission, WebSite Design,
Banner ads and more. No experience necessary. We do all the
work. You do not build the site yourself. It's already built.

This is basically what he gave me to advertise. Please let me
know if by chance you do get a chance to go to my Website at
http://xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx.

I hope you may give me some advise on what I can do. Thanks
so much for your time.

Theresa

Dear Teresa,

Thanks for writing to me and for your trust.

Whenever I can help - I do help.

But first a question.
Do you believe that this ad you are placing tells the truth?

Dear Wanda,

As far as I can tell it does. It's just that I don't have
the words to describe an ad for it. I guess that what
I'm lacking.

I should have thought of this before I purchased it.

Theresa

Dear Theresa,

I clicked on your link and visited your site.
The only thing that you are selling there is the opportunity.
And drastically overprices websites.

Your title says "5,397 per month - guaranteed!".
Yet it didn't make you a dime yet.

In my book you are selling something you KNOW doesn't work.

You know the ad doesn't tell the truth.
And you know there is no guarantee.
It there was one - you'd have over $5,000 every month.
And you don't.

So - the answer to my question "does tha ad tell the truth?"
is: you know that the ad doesn't tell the truth.
Is very misleading. To put it mildly.

You can't build business based on... well, lies.
You only can cheat.

These kinds of ads are not only dishonest.
They also bite back.

You felt for it - now you hope somebody else will fall
again so that YOU get paid.

And so it goes....

You are in business of marketing - without understanding
how to market yourself? Hmm...

My advice?
Get out.
Cut your loses.
Everyone makes mistakes - but only some learn from them.
Only some realize soon enough...
You just did.

Start your own business.
Something you really love to do.
Something you would be committed to deliver with awesome
quality - time after time after time.

Something you KNOW how to do.

Money will come and sales will come.
Money is result of providing excellent service
to people who appreciate it so much that pay for it.

right now - you are in the dead end street.

hope it helped,

best wishes.

Hello Wanda

I most certainly appreciate your comments. There is only
one problem. I already paid for that Website. I wish I didn't now.

I am going to have to live with that lie over my head.
Now I don't even feel like advertising it, but like I said its
paid for now. I don't know where to turn with this Website now.
Isn't it really possible to earn that much money with that
Website per month?

I would never know I didn't buy the best program they had,
and I'm glad I didn't.

Again thanks for your time and comments about the site.

Theresa

Hi Theresa,

> There is only one problem. I already paid
> for that Website. I wish I didn't now.

My heart goes to you. So, here is more free advice.
Count your loses and leave - at least it IS paid.
It would be worse if you owed money to pay even more.
(some people stay in debt long time after they realize
that someone took advantage of them!)

> Isn't it really possible to earn that much money with that
> Website per month?

Yes - it is possible.
By cheating and selling something you know doesn't work.
And by hoping that people will allow themselves to be cheated.

Is this something that interests you?

best regards
Wanda
