Maria,
The only autoresponders I use enough to be familiar with are simple email addresses on my web server. Each one has a separate address, and a precomposed message. When someone sends a message to the appropriate address they get the message stored there and I receive notification of who requested the message.

I offer free informational reports and free ezine subscriptions. When a report is requested, the appropriate responder sends the report, and there is usually a little blub for my service at the end of the report. Since I also receive notification that the free report was requested, I usually follow up a day or two latter inviting the requester to subscribe to my free ezine. Most do subscribe so this is an effective way for me to increase my ezine circulation.

I also have autoresponders set up to acknowledge request for ezine subscriptions, and to mail out an index of articles available via autoresponder.

They are just a great way to make initial contact with a customer or provide the type of information which is requested over and over. However, the requests should be followed up.

Hope this helps.
