Phil, 130 new in a day is VERY good! Yes, you definitely are doing
something right!! (Actually a lot of things :-)

: I sent them a personal welcome message and a
: copy of last weeks issue, and 13 bounced.

The biggest nightmare and still a HUGE mystery was when 70 mails from
the same server were bouncing for weeks - all of them were subscribers
as a result of a nice endorsement in one of the newsletters - I think
it brought me tons of subscribers, with real names and requests - but
the mail kept bouncing back after a few issues (so many of them typed mistakes? and all from the same server? - mistery!)

Anyway, after that time I decided that life is brutal and once it comes
as a "fatal mistake" it get removed, otherwise it becomes a nightmare.

To prevent mistakes I ask people to type the e-mail twice - I think it
is a good idea.

Although I see people typing mistakes twice, too - and I myself do it occasionally. So things like that happen, perhaps it is a good idea
to let people know that if they will not receive a newletter for
a while, they should subscribe again. Some will not. Life...

Wanda
