Finding a niche market?
As a newbie/wantabe online marketer
I have noticed on a number of the
marketing boards alot has been said
and a number of people have products
regarding the making of information products
but I don't see alot of discussion on how
to finds the market wants. Go with what
you know is what the experts say ...
which is great but if you want to break
into a market that is not your expertise
now what? Opinions please!
1) When looking at a new market (blindly)
do you interview different people within
that market to determine their common
problems and whether they have sought
a solution? Do you cold call survey
specific people and/or companies to
determine their common problems?
2) Do you review trade journals and
newletters to determine common themes
of articles?
3) Do you place ads in said publications
to determine viability of your ideas
(sounds pretty expensive)
4) Find online discussion groups and/or
Usenet groups and ask open ended questions
to extract information without looking
like a salesman?
Your postings are appreciated.
