It is a Spring time here in North Carolina and I'm in love! In love with autoresponders! If used effectively, this tool, seemingly so impersonal, can help you develop an on-going dialogue, and even a relationship with your prospects. 

Most people use autoresponders to announce to the world  that they are on vacation or to send instantly a requested document (sometimes adding a recipients name to their house  mailing list). Not a bad idea but this is indeed impersonal  for most of the time - and this, my Cyber-Friends, is just the beginning. 

• if you advertise on the web, use them to track where your  ad responses come from so that you know where to spend your advertising dollars (of course, in advertising the 20/80 Pareto Principle applies too! - see my article) 

• use autoresponders to send out follow up info to those who requested information but have not ordered yet your productor service

• use autoresponders in your printed advertising. Just think - it is much cheaper to direct someone to an autoresponder address than to your toll free telephone number!

Another option is to obtain a FREE web-based autoresponder. For example, if you open an account with http://www.freeyellow.com you will receive one autoresponder, but don't expect much - it's not very reliable.
